 WMC STRATEGIC PLAN 2010-2015 CONSULTATIVE WORKSHOP

On December 8, 2009, WMC conducted a workshop for the consultation of its revised strategic plan 2010-2015 which is being developed. The workshop was held at Bopha Koh Kong Restaurant, Koh Kong Province.

kkworkshopAll staff of the Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia attended this workshop so that they can give comment on the content of the revised strategic plan. The workshop is aimed at enabling staff to contribute to the development of this strategic planning by giving comments on the whole draft.

To be able to comment on the drafted parts, staff were guided to look through the proposed points including Vision Statement, Mission Statement, Strategies, strategic goals 2010-2015, and some other related points.

Presenting this drafted strategic plan was H.E, Dr. Tia Phalla, consultant team leader with support from his team members. Note: This half day workshop is part of the 5 day Annual Staff Retreat 2009 of the Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia.

Louk Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen visited WMC’s booth

Louk Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of Cambodian Red Cross and a national figure of the National Asia Pacific Leadership Forum Champion-APLF visited WMC’s booth at the NGO exhibition during the World AIDS Day which was held on December 1, 2009 at Chaktomuk Conference Hall. This year is the 22nd World AIDS Day in the world and the 11th in Cambodia.

After visiting the exhibition, louk Chumteav proceeded to preside over the World AIDS Day ceremony in the name of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Following the ceremony, louk Chumteav continued to visit PLHIV communities in Sangkat Steung Mean Chey, Phnom Penh.

 IAWRT’s 33rd Biennial Conference on Progress

The first-ever international conference co-organized by the Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia (WMC) and International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT) was held on 17-21 November 2009 at Hotel Cambodiana, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The conference was presided over by the Minister of Information, H.E Khieu Kanharith.

The conference theme is “Beijing +15: Empowering Women through Media”. There are totally 99 participants 49 of whom are media professionals from 23 countries around the world and the rest 50 participants are Cambodians working in media.
